Establishing enterprises is important for the municipality in order to provide employment opportunities for the citizens and local overall development.

New, effective and more intelligent approaches and instruments must be applied, and other local and regional players must contribute to increasing the attractiveness of locations and the willingness of companies to invest. This also requires new tools and talents that optimize and shape these new settlement processes in a targeted manner. There has been a lack of a clear framework for municipal establishment promotion work in times of innovation and sustainable development. It is evident that business establishments are becoming more complex over time and that more competencies than before need to be involved to enable establishments. The BAS project is intended to make a significant contribution to this and teach the important skills in a simple digital training process and illustrate them with suitable best-practice examples.

In Module 1, you will explore the fundamentals of collaborative business attraction, focusing on how to create a strategic action plan, identify and connect with key partners, and mobilize resources effectively. The goal is to provide a comprehensive understanding of networking and management strategies that are vital for fostering a business-friendly environment.

Moving to Module 2, the focus shifts towards practical strategies to improve business attraction competencies. You will dive deeper into the essential skills needed for managing innovation, strategic partnerships, and creating economy-friendly environments. This module is geared towards helping you implement real-world strategies that elevate your municipality’s economic development efforts.

To navigate through these modules, simply follow the step-by-step units within each section. Each unit provides key insights, practical examples, and best practices that can be applied to your local context. At the end of each module, you will find a quiz to assess your understanding and reflect on your municipality’s current business attraction efforts.

We encourage you to take the time to explore the content, apply the strategies, and engage with the interactive elements to maximize your learning experience!
